How do you test a fluorescent light fitting for faults?
My twin-bulbed fitting in my fish tank has stopped working and as both bulbs are not illuminating I am assuming the bulbs are ok. Have checked the fuse in the plug is ok, but where do I check next?

It is a bayonet type fitting and needs a little anti clockwise twist.
Usual symptoms of a starter failing is the tubes flash a few times upon startup before they illuminate fully.
You may get one at B&Q or a hardware store. The number on the side denotes the type you need.
