Eye problem

Since after xmas I have had waht feels like something in my eye.
The left eye feels like it has a hair or a bit of dust but I can't find anything.
The upper eye lid has developed a bit of a twitch which comes and goes. there is also a bit of gunge there as well.
any one got an idea what it might be and would a simple eye wash would help.

Hi Tigerlily, it sounds like something that happened to me, which turned out to be an eyelash in the corner of the upper lid, well in fact there were two. This caused a whitish sticky film to collect in the corner nearest the nose, which I gently removed with a tissue. It became so irritating, that I went to see an optician, who had a look and said that there were two eyelashes which were growing inwards instead of outwards and these were irritating the surface of the eye. He also said the film was the eye attempting to clear the irritation. He removed the two eyelashes with tweezers, and I have had no problem for ages. He did say however, that when the eyelashes grew back again it was likely that they would grow in the same direction again. I think it probably would be a good idea if you got an optician to have a look to see if that's what is causing your problem. By the way it didn't hurt when he pulled out the offending lashes. Hope you get sorted ok.

TY for that.
My eye lash grow weird any way but this is the first time I have had this happen.
This morning both eyes are irritating.
I think I might have to march down the DR if it keeps up.

TY Mand. That seems to discribe it down to a T.
I have always been sensitive to sun light and smoke as well.
