I cant straighten my knee
7 Answers
I banged my knee pretty hard yesterday and i had a burning sensation for about 10 minuets. It then was constantly aching. I went to bed last night and when i woke up i could not straighten my leg at all. i can move my leg side to side easily, but i can not straighten it at all. When i sit or lie still i constantly have a pulsating ache in my knee.
Hope someone could give me an idea what i have done and anything that might help i would be very grateful.
Thanks

The doctor said it was bursitis. Otherwise known as housemaids knee.
He gave me anti inflammatory tablets.
I also rubbed ibruprophen gel on it every day, and had to wear a knee support.
It has taken from last April until now to feel better, it is only in the last few weeks that I have been able to do without the knee support, and feel as if it is healing.

I also had something like that many years ago. It came on after a drunk person stamped on my foot very hard on the Tube. I couldn't straighten my leg either or bend it properly and it was a horrible burning, achey feeling. I even went to the hospital, had X Rays, but they couldn't see anything wrong.
Anyway, I just kept using ice packs on it and took Ibuprofen and it seemed to get better in about 3 days. My boyfriend at the time, who was training to be an Osteopath, claimed I had a "bursed Bursa".
