poor you - according to a friend who has this problem it does help if you keep the heating down - no question about that - presumeably you've had some allergy tests to see what triggers it so we are just looking at managing the problem? Absolutely slosh on common or garden aqueous cream - huge amounts - your skin is an organ so treat your whole skin, not just the problem area. Drink lots of water to keep hydrated - the worst thing that can happen is for your skin to get dried out - this makes the condition worse. Every time you think about it use the cream - cut out fabric conditioners, decrease the washing powder (or change to a hypo-allergenic one) cut out the chemicals in beauty products and invest in a muslin bag or similar and put porrige oats in the bag and run the bath tape over it whislt filling the bath. Oats have a wonderfully soothing effect and if your arms get unbearable, break the cycle by applying a solution of oats and water to the area. It really does work. Also, am sure you'll get lots of brilliant advice from the eczema web site. hope it goes well for you.
