I've mentioned on here previously that I've been diagnosed with gallstones and am now on the waiting list for the op. The problem is - the attacks are becoming more frequent, and can be sparked off by pretty much EVERYTHING I eat. Yesterday I ate two slices of toast (no butter) with marmalade (fat free) - and got an attack! The night before I ate a jacket potato with a small tin of tuna (in Brine, and having checked the fat content which was 0.3g saturated fat) - again, another attack lasting from 9pm until 3am. It seems to be getting worse, as i used to basically survive on toast and jam/marmalade and now am unable to even manage that!

Essentially, I'm unable to eat anything now. I'm feeling exhausted and starving. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on what I can eat? or anything that will relieve the pain of an attack? (only thing that helps so far is a hot bath/hot water bottles, but that's only temporary relief).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks x

First things first.

1) Tell your GP that your condition is deteriorating and ask him to expedite your admission for surgery.
2) Taking drugs by mouth during an attack may be difficult because of nause and vomiting, but try taking a NSAID such as Voltatol to ease the pain.

Good luck
Soup !
When I was in similar straights to you, I existed on soup. Nothing too chunky (just in case it re-appears) and nothing too, thick. Plain bread (no spread) will help bulk the meal out.

Hope you are sorted out soon.

I feel 100% better, now.
My doc gave me Zoton. I take then anyway for my acid reflux but doc said to take 2 when my gallstone plays up.
