Swine flu at risk groups

I've read about the at risk groups (i.e those that may suffer a more severe case) one of them is immunosuppression disease or virus can someone clarify what the NHS means by this group? i have an underactive thyroid which when i am over tired can mean i am sometimes at risk of catching colds etc.

your gp will know...i've been offered the vacine only because i work as a carer...do you get the yearly flu jab if you do you will probably get it if you want it

hi jenna, I am abit confused about it, i know that my immune system is weakened if i do not take my thyroxin properly. i have never had a flu jab abd i am not sure if i have ever really had flu, i do get a couple of heavy colds a year though

If you have not been invited for the usual annual flu jab, then you are not in a risk group.

oh thanks for that Richard, that's good to know. i definately do suffer with colds and sore throats if i miss too many of my thyroxin and so i should make sure now that i keep to the prescribed dose.
