I`m just recovering from a 5 year problem with an OAB. Is there any valid reason why I should go back onto the `water` pill as the literature states that an OAB could be CAUSED by this pill!

And there`s no way I ever want to go back to my former state again.

Cheers

MsEVP........a bit confused.......I presume that you were on a diuretic when the diagnosis of OAB was made?

I also presume that the diagnosis of OAB was made by a Consultant Urologist?

I also presume that you have been off your diuretic for 5yrs and now there is a reason to take it again?

Let me know if I have the story correct.

Sqad, Yes, yes and yes.

I still have high blood BP and the newest pill to conquer this makes my feet and ankles swell (as written in the literature). After about a month, this swelling stopped but then, 4 months later it`s started again.

So my doctor suggested going back on Benzoflu. (which I had stopped 5 years ago when my frequency was about every 15 minutes at its worst).

Is it a quandary or is it not?
Thanks....i your new BP tablet....candesartin?
sp I should be is.

I have never known a drug for lowering BP cause ankle swelling......what is the name of the tablet?
Question Author
Squad, sorry, I couldn`t get back before this.

Motens, which I believe is lacidipine, channel blocker, doth make the ankle swelleth, honest, like a balloon.

Thanks
Well, this needs discussing with your GP.

Would it not be possible to go on another BP lowering drug...e.g ACE inhibitor or Angiotensin inhibitor e.g Candesartin?

Try it with him.

Good luck.
Question Author
Thanks, Sqad. I know I`ll do that eventually. Candersartin is a new one to me, I`ll look it up, but I`m already taking enalapril and atenolol.

Enuf on this subject,

Cheers
