Memory foam beds and toppers
14 Answers
During a recent cruise I slept like a top and noticed that there was a memory topper about 3 inches thick on top of the mattress. Since returning home I am back to uncomfortable bed and pillow , thus not sleeping too well. Our mattress will need replacing in the next couple of years and I was wondering about other people's experiences with memory foam.Do I get a topper now and have to replace the mattress later, or are the mattresses that good - also the pillows?
Any advice and help on manufacturer etc. greatly received.

if your mattress has had it you may as well look into a new memory foam mattress instead of just the topper.
I don't like memory foam pillows as I find thre's not enough "give" in them, but I found quite a soft one which is okay.

I've heard a lot of people talk about memory foam being very warm/hot to sleep on. Either I've been extremely lucky or they have been unlucky but I haven't had a problem and - thank god for anonymity - my wife is going through the menopause and suffers really badly from hot flushes/sweats and doesn't seem unduly concerned about any 'heat' from the memory foam.

We got ours from - http://www.trusleep.com/ - we got the Airflow mattress that allows it to ventilate - memory foam matresses are warmer than ordinary mattresses, but you get acclimatised to them, and, after the first year you wont notice the diiference and will never want to sleep in another sprung mattress again.
Thank the Lord for MEMORYFOAM !!!!!! It has revolutionised sleep, no more hip or back pains. We used a mattress topper for a few years but found it shifted a bit each night and as they are pretty heavy and hard to move, bedmaking was a chore each day. When we needed a new mattress we thought we'd go the whole hog and get a full memory foam mattress but it was too much, we couldn't turn over, couldn't move and couldn't get up off it each morning (we resembled two beached whales !) So we have compromised and bought a firm mattress with a layer of memory foam incorporated, Success!! I also use a memory foam pillow, but have a regular one underneath as I need two. Again - success !!
If I were you Kazal, I'd push the boat out (not the cruise one) and go for it now, why wait and miss out on all that good sleep.
