Medial Ligament damage
0 Answers
Hi Guys,
Back in September I tore my medial ligament. Initially i thought it was a sprain and thought i'd rest it although my job involves a lot of walking on a daily basis. After a couple of weeks the swelling was still there and i couldnt bend my knee back behind me (whilst holding my foot).
I went for an MRI scan back in December and apparently after seeing the surgeon in May, i'm going to need an op. However, i am still waiting for a date for the op.
In the meantime my knee feels ok, no sharp stabbing pains like before whenever i flicked my foot out, can fully bend my knee again, and can kick a ball no problem so it seems to have healed. The problem is that whenever i change direction suddenly it feels like (and has done on a couple of occasions) it's going to give way.
Does anyone know of any excercises i can do to strengthen the knee cos i'm fed up of waiting for the NHS to send me a date.
Many thanks
