Bleeding nipple

Earlier I fell into the wall, hurt but not enough to make me cry or anything.

About 3 hours later I looked down at my top and saw a large blood stain looked in my bra and seems like my nipple is bleeding. It doesn't appear to have a cut and doesn't hurt. Having padded it with cotton wool and tissues but it still bleeding enough to soak through the pads.

As it was about 3 hours after falling into the wall is it possible that could be the cause? Would that be normal? Can't ever remember banging my boobs before. Not sure what to do. Don't want to call my GP helpline tomorrow or go to A& E for nothing and waste their time.

no idea Cath, but what harm is there calling the NHS Direct? that's what they're there for x

well, as with any wound if you cannot stop the bleeding then my advice would be go to a an e.

They said if it's still bleeding in an hour or so to go to A & E and asked alot of questions such as are you on the pill, could you be pregnant, when did you stop breast feeding,etc

Suggested I should go to my gp on Tuesday even if the bleeding had stopped.

Will wait and see if it stops I guess

Might be due to the injury, might be coincidental.

Went to A & E as GP closed today.

The doctor said as it was only one side need to investigate it further but said it was most likely to be a papemona or something like that - then he went on to say he'd arrange a mamogram as my mum had breast cancer but that didn't mean to say it was cancerous.

Now it feels like it's burning but I think tht might be because it was prodded about.
