Tongue problem!!

I have had a look on the tinternet and can't find what I am looking for so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

I have a bald, smooth area on my tongue and it is getting bigger. It has lost the normal look and is almost as smooth as an ice rink!! I have tried nhs direct and a couple of other sites but don't know how to get any closer to what I am looking for.

If you can get Squad to Answer your query he may well be able to advise you. He is a regular contributor to AB health issues and I believe he was an ENT Specialist.
