Winter Boots with flip out ice grips

You know those little leaflets that you get with your weekend newspapers? Months ago I had one and it showed these boots, a bit like snow boots, but with little flip out ice grips for the bad weather. At the time I thought they looked a bit mad, but since my Mum broke her hip and had to get a hip replacement in the summer, I am starting to think that they might be good for her for when the bad weather comes in. Trouble is, I can't find the leaflet and I am having trouble finding them by googling as I really don't know what to search for. Any ideas?

Oooh, just what I need too. Thanks Ice-Maiden. Was only thinking today about my hips and any snow and ice this winter. A pair of those simple ones that strap on the front of shoes will do me fine and I will look just so lovely!! (Past caring what they will look like!!) ;o)

I can't remember ice and snow last year, Redhelen? I don't think we had any snow of any consequence. Have to wait and see what happens this winter. Don't really want any ice and snow because I do get terrified now about falling.

Oh I remember, but we only got a light smattering. I remember the local schools closing and the snow had hardly settled.

In fact I can't remember any really heavy snowfalls in the last 20 years. Perhaps my memory is going!!!
