I would ask your consultant, everyone is different in how quickly they heal - going back too soon to strenuous exercise can do you more harm than good. They don't recommend twelve weeks off work for nothing!

First time on a forum so please bear with me!
I am not feeling too bad. Had first full week at work so am very tired. I wasn't as dedicated as you sound at the gym - only a couple of times a week. I also have my own pony and can not ride for 5 months - that is a killer! My doc says no gym for 5 months and had op 11th November - that is an awful long time! How about you?

47. Had endometriosis for several years; suffered with pain, heavy constant bleeding, miscarriages and unable to have children etc

Cas, it's worth waiting. My sister in law had the same op before me (and mine was 17 years ago now) and she said "give up your life for 3 months and you won't regret it" and they were such wise words. People I know who have done too much too soon have ended up taking a lot longer to fully recover. You need to give it until at least the middle of Feb before starting gentle exercise - your abdominal muscles will have suffered quite a bit of trauma during the op. and you need to give them time to get sorted and healed before you put any unnecessary strain on them.

Thanks guys. Not too bad on hormone treatment expect finding it tricky to sleep for more than a couple of hours most nights even though I fall into bed feeling exhausted. Have 2 dogs so walk those every night when I get home so getting some exercise. Any idea about the power plate? I think most exercises require core stability don't they? How about swimming?
Cas, have a look at http://www.safemenopa...for-hysterectomy.html - it's an advert but it'll give you an idea. Also if you put "exercise post hysterectomy" into Google it'll come up with quite a few links you might like to check over. I hope this helps!
