Torn muscle?

I have no idea about this sort of thing, so nay help would be most appreciated.

I have a pain in the top left half of my pectoral area, if I move the area sharply it will twinge with pain, and if I touch the area it feels sore(?) like a bruise.

I am wondering if this sounds like a torn muscle to you?
