Burst blood vessel

My mum poked herself in the eye yesterday resulting in a very bad burst blood vessel :( - are there any ways to ease the pain?  I heard tea bags were soothing...

Any ideas?

Ergh - apparently it takes up to two weeks to clear and there is nothing you can do to soothe it.  Hmmm...
