Cholinergic Urticaria..itch itch itch
3 Answers
Starting a couple years back, any exercise I did made me feel itchy and I was convinced that I just wasn't fit (I'm not exactly the fittest person out there). It was only a few months ago that I saw a doctor and diagnosed it as Cholinergic Urticaria (Heat/exercise-induced hives). Knowing it had a name helped but the anti-histamines I had to take did not help very much - it helped the itching (which occurs around my back, my shoulders, and my arms) slightly but it still occurs and there's the drowsiness, of course.
I've been researching the condition all morning and I have only found people stating how the medication they've tried has not worked but maybe you may know a way to help alleviate the itching?
I have to walk to college (well I don't now as it's the holidays) but the warm weather is no help; I find I get too cold with the fan and that's a little uncomfortable. But is there any ways that can help or am I going to be an itcher for a while longer?

Wear 100% cotton clothes, not tight
Get some 100% cotton bed linen
use no bio washing powder, no softner
Not hot baths/showers, warm/cool and often
Have a look at a product called skin slave by purepotions it helps but doesnt cure.

My son suffered from urticaria although it wasn't exercising that caused his. He was prescribed the anti histamine Loratadine ( claratyn is a well known brand of this but Boots do their own brand lots cheaper) which does not cause drowsiness. This used to work well for him and he also used E45 cream on the actual hives which also helped. Best of luck
