Painful privates

For about a week now I have noticed a bit of discomfort in my testicles. As I am very aware of the risk of cancer I have felt them and nothing really strange or any lumps. Today I can now feel like I can distiguish the pain is in the left testicle. I do worry quite a bit. What could the pain possibly be? I am 100% sure it isn't related to any STD's as was recently checked out. If I go to the doctors what are they likely to do? If they feel and cant feel anything abnormal what tests are they likely to do on me? I hope its nothing serious :(

The most common symptom of testicular cancer is a painless lump or swelling in the testicles. Other symptoms can include:

A dull ache in the scrotum (the sac of skin that hangs underneath the penis and contains the testicles)

A feeling of heaviness in the scrotum



Get ur GP to refer for Scrotal ultrasound to be safe side. Good Luck :-)

Don´t worry....probably nothing sinister.

YouGP will examine your testicle and if a lump is felt. you will be referred to a Urologist.

If no lump is felt, he may well just monitor the situation.

Oldexpat.I had a similar problem a year or so back, very swollen testicles and a lot of discomfort.Like you I was very worried but after a check by my gp it turned to be a build up of fluid in the scrotum , Hydrosill? not sure of the spelling. I went into hospital and had the fluid drained under a general anaesthetic..a couple of stitches in the scrotum and all is well Since then I have had no more problems.I hope this helps. Hydrocele is the American spelling.
Hydrocoel is the English spelling.

Thanks sqad, i've only ever seen it spelled the first way.
I do get annoyed with the american spellings of medical words such as gynaecologist/gynecologist ;)

daffy......it doesn´t me, but all the scripts in Windows including Wikipedia seem to be American orientated and of course sad old git could be American LOL
