To be honest I'm not altogether sure. GP said I had a fissure a while back though it is a lot better than it was and I have a lot of diarrhoea so figure that is to blame for the bleeding, soreness etc...
Not had mucus like that I've noticed before now though.
I don't know that much about the malabsorption thing. I found out at my last consultant's appointment in about January. Saw a different Dr who said my camera pill thing was ok, no internal signs of crohns etc... (esp as I have inflammatory arthritis and other things that were pointing to that) and sounded like he wasn't sure what else to do then mentioned maybe a malabsorption test. I pointed out they'd done one 6 months before!
He hadn't even realised (they ordered it!) or seen the results and spent a while telling me how unlikely it was unless I had had some kind of surgery or inflammatory bowel disease etc... for anything to come up before finding the results which showed I had bile acid malabsorption. It was pretty much the end of the consultation then and just got pretty much shoved out by a rather embarassed Dr with a prescription but no real explanation. He didn't even check the fissure as he said he was going too so it was all a bit random really.
They put me on medication for an initial 3 months and it was absolutely fantastic and felt so much better and my deficiencies (iron, vit D etc...) got better and I noticed a massive difference in my skin, hair, nails, energy etc... as well as the pain, diarrhoea, sickness etc...
I was meant to be back not long after the initial 3 months ran out but they have kept putting the appointment back and back and it's finally on Tuesday. Since I finished the initial meds it's gradually gone back to how it was before (including things like the abcesses as used to get a lot before).
