It probably contains some kind of stimulant.

they contain a decongestant (Phenylephrine) which can have stimulant effects on some people its the one that goes in the daytime versions of cold remedies. switching to a specially produced night time remedy will stop the problem as they have an ingredient that canmake some people drowsier

I had the same problem, then realised my cold and flu tables also had caffeine in them to perk me up... so I switched to night nurse after dinner instead.
