I got attuned with reiki last year....since i had it done my interest has been lacking a bit...do i need to be re-attuned by a reiki master or do i just need to start practicing the postitions again?  any help greatly appreciated

You have to take the paragraph return mark off the end of the HTML address. As to actual true debunking of such hocum, they asked some children if they could think of some experiments to show whether this type of laying on of hands rubbish worked. So an 11 year old girl said the practitioners should try doing it through a sheet and then manipulate the chi. Unsurprisingly they could even tell correctly if there was even a person the other side of the sheet.

I (stupidly) in the dim and distant past paid a rather large sum of money for 2 reiki attunements. I fancied myself as a healer and when I wasn't experiencing much after the first atttunement, went for my reiki 2. Maybe it's just me, but it didn't work any magic on me and I am rather ashamed of the fact that I was so gullible as to believe it would.


I don't think you can possibly be a healer just by slipping some fat old hippy some money and her prancing around and ringing a bell. I admit I was totally taken in because I wanted to believe.

I think that people who believe it works are not being "healed" by Reiki but by benefitting from the attention and the comfort of being touched by another. A bit like mummy kissing it better when a child hurts himself. Not some magical power.

Please don't pay any more money to these people. It's all total B*******

Well done Harriet, welcome reality. The trouble is the whole spectrum of mumbo jumbo from from A-Z only exists because people "want to beleive" so they deny the evidence of there own experiences. Mediums and other charletans exist because people would love to think they can contact lost relatives etc.

coffers1 - if you can get someone to re-attune you without reattuning your wallet at the same time,  then go for it.

If the Rieki Master wants money before her or she will reattune you then you know what matters most to them.

I would have thought whether reiki works or not warrants a separate thered, but to answer the actual question once you've been initiated, that's it. Nothing can ****** it up whatever you do or however long you leave it.

OK, you may be able to guess how I know this, but though I am a reiki master I don't understand it at all, with my mind anyway. But things do happen, and with many people it does work, so I just accept there are many things we don't yet understand but still may work.

The only other suggestion I'd add is to go out and try it on some volunteers like I did, and then you'll get more of an idea what it can do.

i agree with David - once you have been attuned it stays with you always whether you use it or not. as for the sceptic's in life well what can i say? they are always there, didnt someone say penicillin wouldnt work? i rest my case. you took this particular path for a reason its up to you what you do with it if anything.
