Removing healthy adult teeth?

I'm 14 and my upper front teeth overlap I recently had my 4th teeth from the top I think its called the first bicuspid removed as suggested by the orthodontist and now i have two big gaps when I smile however I do also have braces and I just want to ask if I did the right thing

yes, i'm sure you did. you'll have a lovely straight- tooth smile when your braces finally come off. both my sons needed the same treatment at your age and both now have lovely straight teeth.... with no gaps :o)

They did the same to me...........top and bottom.
Unfortunately, the orthodontist miscalculated. My mouth grew to accommodate the required space. and I could have kept the top ones.
I have two gaps :o(
The orthodontist made me a bridge plate to 'infill' these gaps but the clips were visible and I felt just as attention-catching as the gaps.
