hi, since i was pregnant i have had a swollen.painful leg, which got worse after my hip replacement. The GP has recommended a support stocking which is fine, but owing to arthritis in my hands i will have a lot of trouble putting it on. i have been looking at gadgets that will help with this.
Does anyone have experience of them? The one im looking at is a frame but as it's 30 quid, i would like to know it's going to work first.
You will have to be the guinea pig bednobs, if his invention works he will have to share out the profits. If not it looks like you'll end up in dock again.
I still have the puller on thing they gave me at the hospital when they gave me support socks for my leg when I had cellulitis .Is yours support socks or stockings bednobs ? Mine were knee length socks ( like pop socks ) If it's socks then you're welcome to have mine . It's only light ,I could post it to you .
It's never been used .I managed to get the socks on OK and don't need to wear them so often now .
Failing that why not give the DVT clinic a call at the hospital .
Have you had to pay for the socks as you can get all this gear on prescription .They should be measured .I had mine done at dermatology .
When I was prescribed support stocklings by the Dr our District Nurse ordered on e of the following for me Activa actiglide.
You can see them on the following link and I would think that you could order them from the company.
I found it very useful and saved a lot of struggling with them.
shaney, it came today, thank you so so so much, you really are a very nice person. Now all i have to do is work out how to use it - it looks like some sort of marital aid :)
Haha... it is an odd looking gadget I must admit .They did show me how to use it at the hospital but it went in one ear and out the other at the time .
You have to thread that plastic strip the holes somehow put the sock over the plastic and then pull .I think the instructions are with it .I didn't look before I posted it .)
Anyway you are most welcome .Hope you can manage the socks with it .
Take care x
