Blood test - need a ridiculous reason for it.
32 Answers
I have to go for a blood test in the morning. It's only to make doubly sure that my symptoms are indeed due to menopause and nothing like thyroid before the doc starts treatment.
Thing is, the daft, nosy little twits at work will want to know what for and I don't feel inclined to tell them as it's really none of their business. So I want to give them a ridiculous reason for it just so's I can watch their stupid faces whilst they try to figure it out and then become too embarassed to ask any more (yes, I'm mean that way).
So what unlikely reasons would I have to be going for a blood test? Something a reasonably clean-living, heterosexual, married, menopausal woman would be highly unlikely to have.

Invictas, I agree with you 100%. But they're a nosy, gossipy lot and to be quite honest I'm getting sick of them forever asking what's wrong every time I so much as sneeze - they may share their woes with each other but mine are my business, as you say. Thing is, if I tell them that directly then I'll get moaned at by the boss for being rude. And since the boss is one of the thickest prudes I've ever worked for, Puternut's suggestion sounds perfect.
