my other half has always had a slow heart rate. he keeps himself fit, runs 5k three times a week and is fairly slim. yesterday evening when he checked his blood pressure (normal) his heart rate was 48. he said he had felt slightly dizzy while just sitting watching tv, which is what prompted him to check.
is 48 anything to worry about, given that his normal resting heartrate is probably between 55 and 65?

He would have to be fit to "see to you"..;-)

Now.....48 is a bit low, but he is an athlete, so as a one of reading is no big deal. The "slight dizziness" is noted, but doesn´t change my opinion of.......monitor the situation.

:o)
thank you for the consultation doctor dear.
eth....no problem.

Just a thought..is he tired, put on weight, listless, voice change, dry skin or night cramps?

I am sure that the answer will be no to them all.........just wondering.

no, none of the above, i know why you're asking though.
he had an episode of svt about 2 years ago where he was given an injection to slow his heart down and kept in over night. nothing since but i think anything heart-related now puts the wind up him (and me) a bit...even though this is a slow heartrate rather than a fast one.
eth....thanks........monitor the situation.
