I spoke to NHS Direct earlier today about a different medical matter and they recommended this site. They can only use approved sites and this is one.
I had it once. It is caused by an infection, but I think it hasn';t been identified as yet. You get 1 patch of redish skin that they call the herald patch & the torso gets covered with these little patches after that. It fades away in about 5 weeks & it didn't itch me at all.
I believe that natural light & UV light helps it to go quicker & helps the itching if there is any. There is no lasting problem though, and once you've had it you don't get it again.
It's a type of rash you get when your immune system is low or you're a bit run-down (I got it when I was doing some big exams)and it's a virus. Not serious. You get these herald patches and it spreads out from there in a circular pattern. Not a big deal so I wouldn't worry too much, I just got some perscribed cream for it and it went away.
