LUMP ON THUMB JOINT
11 Answers
Yesterday I washed my hands and noticed a lump on the outside of my thumb joint. It just seemed to have appeared from nowhere.
It looks like a blister from a distance but feels hard because it is on the joint. It is oval in shape and quite elongated extending two-thirds of the way up to the nail. The skin is very rough over it and feels very thick, and when touched or washed it has a yellowish almost shiny tinge to it.
It is totally painless.
Anyone experienced anything similar/have any ideas please?

They are often found near an arthritic joint. I had one for years. Then almost overnight it disappeared. I was going to have it surgically removed because I kept catching it on things, but it disappeared the week before my hospital appointment!!
