Losing weight and slimming down
19 Answers
Since Ive now lost nearly 2 stone, I notice that my shoes are definitely looser. Is it right that your feet also shrink when you lose weight. I have been a size 6-7 for aboiut 20 years and would love to get back to a size 5
I always thought, it would come off your bust too, but as of yet it doesnt seem to have done. I shall probably have to do exercises for that I suppose (big sigh.......)

Excercise is important as (depending on age/genetics/metabolism) you wont be able to loose considerable weight and keep it off with diet alone. But you must be something right as you are down 2st, so good on you for that!
I am guessing that in terms of busts, it varies from woman to woman, it may be the first area you loose weight or it might stay on? General cardio and some light toning excercises with a staple low fat/high protein/reduced carb diet should work in general.

The weight puts pressure on the arch of the foot causing a lengthening effect the presser also causes outward sperad meaning you also need wider shoes. I used to be a 7 now I am an 8 but remember since european sizing came in the sizes are not quite the same most people I know now buy half a size bigger..... so you won't get back to a five but possibly 5.5 -6

An ex that I dated a couple years back went on a excercise/diet plan (she didnt need to in my eyes, she had a great figure, but you support anyway) and she went down 2 or 3 cup sizes - I was bloody devistated! She really got hooked and went a wee bit far and ended up with a better six pack than me and got that vascular forearm look. I am not superficial in the slightest, we are all different shapes and sizes, but I didnt like that look - just being honest

pinki....fine.
I do not know the answer to the question, but I am making this up.
If one is obese, there is a marked degree of venous stasis (blood pooled in the feet) and the 4 layers of muscles in the sole of the feet is a perfect "reservoir" for that blood.
Now, when one loses weight, the blood returns unhampered to the heart and this reservoir is vastly depleted, the foot has less volume and the shoe size lessens.
How about that then folks?

Thanks to everyone for their congrats. I am very pleased with myself. Ive tried so many times and lost the willpower. I dont really know why now is different, but Im determined. I could really do to lose at least another 2 stone. I was 8 stone when I got married 37 years ago and OH said I was too thin although its near my stated weight for my height 5.1 and abit. But when Ive dieted before I felt really happy at around 9 and half stone. so if I could get back to this I would be over the moon
My bust when I got married was amazingly 32. Im currently 42, so I would like to lose some but I realise Im never going to look how I was then
