Since I started taking Morphine caps yesterday I am being very sick after about an hour after eating food. Is this normal until I get used to them, if so how long will it take?

Morphine type drugs can make you feel sick. Some people actually are sick. Many doctors give an anti-sickness drug along with these painkillers for the first week or so. This stops you feeling sick. Once you get used to your painkillers you can stop taking the anti-sickness drugs. But if the sickness doesn't go away, you will need to carry on taking the anti-sickness tablets.

Sqad who? ...
hi carlton, im no expert but i do believe some drugs eg morphine can make you feel nauseous and vomit,, i think a talk with gp might help, they can prescribe something for the sickness, apart from the sickness, do you feel any better,,? anne.
I have had oral morphine in the past, and yes it mad me feel like you.ask for an anti sickness tablet such as Buccastem 3 mg tabs from your Doctor if it get that bad, they worked wonders for me.
Good luck
Aya
Carlton I am in no way qualified, but Morphine can and does cause nausea and vomiting. The best thing is to contact your surgery for a medication to counteract this.

He hasn`t `gorn` again has he Naz? Many thanks, I`ll persevere then.
According to the NHS website, vomiting is a relatively common side effect of taking Morphine Sulphate tablets:

It would be unwise to assume that any side effect, of any drug, will go away after a period of time. Go back to your GP (or specialist) and make it clear that it's the wrong drug for you.
