Yes it will.

so even though the Neuroma is in a different place to where i had thought will it be reoved relying on the MRI scan results and does the exploratory part mean he will removed anything else that is there as i find the letter unclear?.
If the exploratory identifies the neuroma then it, with a part of "normal" nerve will be removed. However if all is normal (which I doubt) then clearly the operation will be discontinued.

so even though its on the web space next to where they are going to explore they will remove it ?i just dont want to go through an exploratory operation on the other web space and they leave the one which is clearly there
jasmin.....trust me......they won´t.

thank you Sqad, i am bit of a worrier as you can tell !
jasmin ;-).....no big deal.
Hello Jasmin26, I too have a Morton's Neuroma and am waiting for surgery to remove it. It is between 3rd and 4th toes, underneath, and it has been explained to me that the operation will be done from the top of the foot, going downwards. Apparently it is quite a large neuroma which is like a lump of gristle, and that the cortisone injections which were originally mentioned would not work on it. I had an ultrasound scan to find out exactly what it was, and apparently there will be an MRI scan before the actual surgery takes place, so that up to date information is available.
In the part of the country where I live, Essex/Herts, there is a 12 month waiting list for surgery, and I have been waiting 5 months so far, so prepare to be patient whilst for the operation.
I wish you a speedy recovery since I know exactly what sort of pain you have. I have found that really thick socks are the best thing to walk around in indoors, and thick rigid soled shoes seem to be most wearable to reduce the pain.

thanks for that and i hope you get yours sorted sooner than that . i have been told i should have mine by the start of June .
If you have your operation sooner than me, I would be interested to hear how it goes and what comments you may make. Hope everything goes really well for you, and a speedy recovery follows.

will do , no problem.

Hi Sqad sorry to be a pain again but i spoke to the consultants secretary yesterday and she says he will not take out the neuroma that i didnt point and will only explore the webspace that i initially said i had the pain. After our previous posts it just doesnt make sense !
