10 Answers
Has anyone had any issues with these tablets. I have been told to take 1 twice a day for pain relief. When i take it of a morning it leaves me feeling weird and spaced out and dizzy but when i take it of a night before bed, obviously i cant feel any side effects. What advice if any could anyone give me. Have tried taking them in morning after food and drink etc but it made no difference. Tia

My GP suggested that I may like to try them (although they are more usuallly used for neuropathic pain of for diabetics) and prescribed them for my severe sciatic/back/leg pain caused by slipped disc and I was on 150g in morning and 150g at night.
They took me a while to get used to but for several years I continued to be prescribed them and continued to take them.
Then my GP left the surgery and I saw a different doctor. He was surprised that I was taking them, told me they were 'nasty' (his word) and suggested I came off them. I think I came off them a bit quickly and spent 4 very unpleasant weeks twitching and itching, rather than pay for another prescription....
Eventually I had to have an operation, anyway, and I cannot say with any certainty that they helped alieviate my pain, anyway.........
I think you would probably be best advised to talk through the implications with your GP.
Tell him how they make you feel.
Ask exactly 'what' he is aiming to treat by using them ?
Ask 'how long' he will be prescribing them for ?
Talk through a 'coming off them' procedure............

My pleasure.
I hope you find a resolution to your pain relief, soon.........
I, too, have been in pain long-term (whether it is comparable to yours, I am not certain) and it is so very wearing.
I am so grateful that mine has rediced so significantly that, to be honest, I feel almost pain-free.
Fingers crossed that you get to the same position quickly.

I wish i cud be pain free i take a lots of tablets co-codamol, ibruprofen, marol 2 tablets for high b.p. and these lyrica tablets. Since i have been taking the lyrica tablets 1 a day my pain has eased a bit. I also have steroid injections in my spine every 4-6 months. When i had my hip replacement and lost nearly 3 stone in weight i thought my pain would ease but it hasnt hopefully after 19yrs they might be able to find something that can make me nearly pain free. Hope u stay pain free jackthehat and thank u for all your help and advice.
I have been on these for a year 300mg twice a day with cocodomol antidepressants ,diazepam , tramadol all the maximum doses. I absoloutley hate lyrica. they help pain yeah for trapped nerves but then you start to get twitchesso sre weight gaient from 9 stone to 12 stone in 6 months, also I am seriously addicted to them. I have try to come of them cold turkey which is absoloutley terrible DO NOT DO IT. u get cold sweats, aches and pains, twitches and feel like complete and utter crap. I am seeing another doctor to try to wean off these again, I am actually in more pain now with the weight gain causing my back and knees to be very painful. I will have to cut down gradually and do it properly this time but I hate the thought of coming off them, they make u feel spaced out a lot which I actually like to get away from reality as I suffer severe depression, pls pls if u can avoid going on a higher dose, do, or not go on them at all. I wish to god I was never put on these. they are ruining my life as my personality changes and ive nearly lost my husband and best friends over these especially but many more mixed.
