One born every minute.
This never fails to make me cry (especially as One Is To Be A Grandmother in 4 months' time). And especially that the last little babe to be born was called Daniel - and the Son who is to make One A Grandmother is my Daniel Spaniel.
The really young couple, the 20 year old girl with awful black & missing teeth, and her 21 year old boyfriend were absolutely adorable - but I just wanted to do something about her teeth. 'In my day' we had free dental care when pregnant - wasn't any offered to this poor young lass? She was quite a pretty little thing and if her teeth were fixed she would look so different. How, in this day and age, can a 20 year old end up with teeth in such a state? And dentician is so important in pregnancy - why didn't someone advise and help her?

Maybe she'll be doing something about the teeth after the baby was born. Not straightaway of course.
I too had free dental treatment during pregnancy and for 1 year afterwards.

Years ago alba that was true - it happened to my mum also. But I was shocked in this day and age that a 20 year old girl had such appalling teeth and that in 9 months of pregnancy no-one had told her about free dental treatment. Still, what do I know - maybe she was, but declined it. I just thought it a shame for health and looks reasons.
Such a shame sara, for whatever reason. I don't mean to be derogatory or assumptive about her upbringing, but her mother (as much as I ended up quite liking her) didn't look the sort to have encouraged good dental hygiene.
p.s. on the subject of looks and youth - you know that lad we were talking about last week - the one with the big head and all that hair on Munroe? He was in the drama about Christopher Isherwood on BBC2 at the weekend - playing Isherwood's brother. He had an even worse namby pamby wavy hairstyle on that - it definitely IS the hair the poor thing's forced to have, rather than he himself. The things one has to do for one's art.....!
