Were you allowed, or as a parent did you or do you allow it?

Friend and i were chatting about when we have kids if we would actually allow it? My mum did allow my ex to stay, however its really unlike her to allow it!

My friend wasnt allowed, or her sisters before her, now she has a kid, and her Bf is allowed, but my parents werent married when i was born (shock horror) and even though i was around, and they were engaged, my dad stilllll wasnt allowed to stay over :0)

There is no way i would allow my sons gf or my daughters bf to stay over as i remember all to well what i got up to when staying over at my gf's house...her dad would have shot me!!
Presumably, when you say "stay" you mean in the same bedroom...?
I allowed all friends of my children to stay over BUT no sharing of bedrooms was a house rule!!!
I was barred to the other side of the house but always managed to dodge the parents.
No....I lived with my Grand parents so there was no way it would ever have been allowed.

I wouldn't let my kids either...
even back in the late seventies my mother had no problem with male or female friends staying.... as she said when she was young things didn't only happen under cover of darkness and she didn'texpect things had changed since then...

Yeah mark i do mean that!

Some i know werent even allowed a partner to stay on couch or spare room x

Ahahah NF, its werid how i feel! If i had a son, i think i mabye wouldnt mind....but a girl,...........?!!! How bad is that! My dad just lives and let lives i think, but ive been single for ages now id actually be embarrasd to ask for someone to stay :0) there actually isnt much of a need for it to be honest x
My ex(tool) was allowed stay over but not in the same room
Teenagers are going to continue to have sex, no matter how much their parents try to stop them! Given that parents accept that as an established fact, isn't it better that they do it somewhere clean, warm and safe rather than behind some grotty bus shelter...?
How many kids have you got Mark?
And where well meaning parents can leave leaflets on contraception and packets of condoms on your dressing table..
My house....my rules.

They would not be allowed to sleep in the same bedroom.
Good point Mark, I agree with ya
^^ Exactly, rowan...
It depends on the age.

At the age of 27, I can't see my Dad being very successful in trying to say my bf can't stay over. Infact he practrically lives at mine.

My ex practically moved in, and its a big regret for my parents and myself actually. It just happened!? ....never again. I stayed at his and him at mine of our own free will.

As much as parents think , we were hardly swinging from lightshades with them next door! Honest i dont think it makes much difference, whats going to be done will be done either way tbh....even if not staying.....if theres a will theres a way! X

Lol@ sqad, ....definately! But its going to happen somewhere isnt it.....

When my mum discovered she was expecing my gran demanded to know whos house! Grandparents werent too pleased when i moved in with BF, but couples go on holidays and hotel breaks whenever so its daft really. But i stil dont know if i was a parent - age is a factor. X
