Apparently my Feng Shui ...

("fong shoooay", I'm told) ... duuh!

... is all wrong.

Sofas should back on to a wall.

Yes, really. Well ... apparently.

So my furniture is in the middle of the room.

And I don't have a sofa facing the door.

Is this to do with psychic lines, or something?

Or because a baddie could sneak up behind me on the sofa, and murder me?

Or is it all total poop?

I have a big plant behind one sofa ... a "prayer plant" or some such.

Maybe the baddie would hide behind the plant, before murdering me.

I must get a book on "fong shooooooayyy" ... before I am murdered.

Are you any more comfortable with your furniture arrangements?

Or maybe you're an expert on Feng Whotnot !!

Moving water is supposed to bring prosperity!

I can see the sea from here.

It just brings seagull poo, day trippers, and Eastern European immigrants.
ha-ha
so do you face the sea and have you a balcony JJ

Aah, that's good, Mopsy.

I could push my sofa back to the wall ... but then I'd have to move a table.

Feng Shui doesn't address these practical issues.
I repainted my front door yellow because some Feng Shui fruitcake told me I was doomed with a black front door, and it had to be yellow.

I'm still waiting for something glorious to happen.
you could ask Olive to do a trip oop Norf..lol
hmmm, feng shui has to come second in an L shaped living room...

I have a nice balcony, Mopsy. It was one of the things I most like about the flat.

I have a big gas barbecue on my balcony, and some garden furniture, and I put up a gazebo when people come over.

I tie it down with cable ties. I'd find it awkward if it blew off and killed a pedestrian. Unless they were a day tripper down from London, in which case it wouldn't be too big an issue, except it might get broken.

Sassy ...I think 10 Downing Street should follow your example. Yellow, instead of black, would make everyone feel cheerful as they went into Cabinet meetings.
yep sofa against wall facing door
Jj, that made me laugh, you shoulda told em to bog off - how's that for fuuunnng swhaaay haha

Mopsy ...

I'd be surprised if Olive ever goes further north than Burgess Hill.

Okay, so 4get scores highly on the "furniture positioning" front.

cazzz ... if it's L shaped, do you have one bit for one thing, and one bit for something else?
some pad there pet....:-)
My feng's alright but my shui's cr@p.
Oh, and I have a radiator facing my door so I can't put a sofa there :(
technically the L bit always ends up underused, and the main body of the room is overcrowded
It's all to do with the flow of energy in your house. and its surroundings.

The Chinese have been living with and using it for thousands of years.

Perhaps it's rubbish, but what do we believe in besides Barratt Homes, Macdonalds and Tesco?
Question Author
suezy ... I should !

I was too busy going "Really? Oh my god, do you think so? Really?"

Mopsy ... it makes up for not having a garden.
my guess is that would be bad feng shui.. :o
