i asked for a link in media last night and i found this....just watched it and im crying my eyes out!! i cannot believe the care, or lack of that i just watched :0(
i must say though, luckily during my training, i havent seen anything like that when people want to die at home. in fact i honestly hand on heart can say my (short) time with district nurses, they , in conjunction with other teams allowed people to die at home peacefully. im starting a new 7wk placement on 26th with district nurses and i CANNOT WAIT!
Did anyone watch this whenit was on?- xx

The NHS has a problems, and many of these are caused often the poor quality of personnel they employ as nurses. No wonder people choose to go to Dignitas if they can afford it.
Before anyone jumps down my throat , I accept that there are some very good and empathetic nurses , and that this was a documentary based on snapshot events and probably tailored to shock.
However it did occur to me that nurses are not badly paid, and that there are many many carers in say residential homes, getting minimum wages who would appear to be able to work with the sick and elderly in a way which does not demean their residents.
It is not acceptable in my view to lay the blame for a bad attitude on having to meet Gov targets.!!!
