Denture adhesive clean-up

As a new denture wearer I am having trouble cleaning the gooey residue from the roof of my mouth and denture top. The (Polygrip Ultra) packet suggests warm water and a soft brush, but this really doesnt work at all. Does anyone have any answers to this problem or suggest an alternative less gooey denture adhesive?

Never used Polygrip but don't have a problem with Fixodent.

I use Fixodent the same as Dealman but one thing I would suggest is this:-
Rinse the top denture set with cold water, dry with paper tissue and then add a couple of small beads of your favourite adhesive.
Because the dentures are dry and the roof of your mouth is wet, the adhesive should nearly always come out with the dentures when they are removed, thus saving the feeling of having a dead slug in your mouth.
This works for me and I hope for you too!

there are loads of denture adhesives out there. Keep trying til you get one that is comfy for you to clean let alone wear.

(Bragging, never had to use an adhesive, dentures are a good fit)

Thank you all for your help. I am quite happy with my denture fit too but sometimes have a problem during meals (probably the fear of embarrasment). However, I'll give Fixodent a go. Thanks again.

I tend to avoid cooked tomatoes as well as rasperries and strawberries. Also I take my teeeth out when I eat weetabix. But only in the privacy of my own home.

Fixodent `Food Seal` is more expensive than the `Original` and I found, not as good.

Polygrip Ultra or Fixodent always seem to stay attached to the denture when it's removed and can be easily peeled off and put on to a dry tissue for disposal I find. I never have had to scrub it off with water.
