Poor pressure on new hot water tap.

Recently fitted new kitchen sink & taps. It is a Cubik monobloc type with flexi hose connectors. The pressure of the cold tap is fine but the hot one is pathetic - it is so slow.
Has anyone any ideas as to how to rectify the problem as we had good pressure on the old tap. Help appreciated.

I fitted a flexi hose on a cistern and it seemed to lose pressure, i think its down to the smaller bore of the hose (copper pipe is usually 13mm/1/2 ") and the type of feed, ie high pressure mains for
the cold water and low pressure from a tank for the hot (assuming its not a combi boiler)
My cistern is upstairs and is fed from a coldwater tank, i am certain its the bore that made it lose pressure.

Thank you chas2008. Our cistern is upstairs & fed from a cold water tank in the roof space, so to overcome the problem did you replace the flexi pipe with copper piping presuming the connections are available?

Yes, it's a common problem Max. So many combis and unvented mains pressure systems around these days. A gravity system often has this problem. A pump fitted in the airing cupboard (on the hot only) would sort it, but it would be cheaper to change the taps ...... again!
I guess your monobloc came with the flexis, and they screw up into the tap body. This makes it very difficult to convert to 15mm copper. Even if you found adaptors, I'll bet the inlet diameter is only 8-10mm........... so you would be no better off.

Clutching at straws ............... maybe an airlock, with insufficient pressure to shift it.
Turn off the cold, open the hot, and apply your face to the spout .......... blow hard......... if it's an airlock, that should shift it.

never got around to changing it back just takes forever for the custern to fill up, i will eventually, another lesson learned...
I do have flexi pipes on a down stairs sink with no problems but they are all mains fed,hot water is through a condensing boiler which is also mains fed.
I often wonder what the life expectancy is of these flexi pipes seeing as they consist of rubber, a failure would be a nightmare. It goes through my mind as i work in the motor trade and i see so many hoses fail i know there are different reasons for this but rubber doesnt last forever...
