In the last couple of months I have been suffering extreamly with cold hands. I have also got very small type blisters on fingers and thumbs(8 in all). My general health seems to be O.K. considering I am 78 yrs. old and diabetetic, I take Metforming for the DB(T2) and also Ramperil, Metroprorol, and Symvastatin the Statin. this medication is for an MI suffered in1993 The small blisters have tiny red spots within thm. Sorry to be so long winded but I think the more info given the better to give an opinion. thanks for your patience. Danny,

The blisters sound like chilblains to me danny, but sqad is right - it's all down to the complications and effects of diabetes. (And you're not longwinded at all - you want to read some people on here............. me included !) x

This is diabetic arterio-neuropathy.....are complication of your diabetes.
I would advice a visit to your GP as there are other, but much less common causes.
It is a treatable complication of diabetes.
