Lips going purple when drinking red wine
6 Answers
My friend Keith's lips always go purple when he drinks red wine; is there anything he can do to stop this from happening? He doesn't wipe his lips before and after every sip/gulp.

But seriously, I found that licking my lips doesn't make any difference, never tried wiping before and after very sip though. I like the lip-salve idea though, as I get quite dry lips and presumably the wine gets in the cracks in the skin and causes the staining. I also brush my lips gently with my toothbrush when I clean my teeth in the evening after drinking red wine, and at least that gets rid of it for the next morning.
