AND then the officer who was in an unmarked car but wearing uniform decided to stop, half open his door and say 'Is there something you wanted to say to me?'

Also is it the law to stop at a give way line on the approach to a roundabout?

the police have to adhere to the laws of the road...simple as that...to call a police officer an idiot..well everyone has there opinion..he sounds as if he thought he was above the law..report it to your local police station if you feel so strongly about the issue if you get no joy then go to the chief constable of your county...

Well, it's common sense to stop - don't know about the legalities of it (had a number of people just casually walk in front of the car today but I stopped and let the continue - seemed a better plan than knocking them over).

don't think it's an offence to call him an idiot, you didn't swear at him, complain to the Cheif Constable as stoke suggested, some police officers are arrogant and think that they're above the law!............they are not!.....
