JTH is the person to comment, but in my considered opinion sleeping on his side OR stomach will in no way prejudice the result of the decompression.

JTH has had the procedure or similar recently.
It is a blessed relief to be able to assume a more natural sleeping position after you have had an op......
Providing he doesn't strain or pull his back in trying to turn he should be fine......I found that a pillow between my knees also took some of the pressure/pull, in the early days.

And DO remind him that when he gets out of bed 'spine in line'!!!

Happy sleeping ! :o)
you always want what you haven't got - when i had a hip replacement and had to sleep on my back, i would have given anything to sleep on my side. When i was pregnant and had to sleep on my side, i would have loved to have slept on my back!
How can you tell when you are asleep? Just wondering.
