Yes.  I had one obe a long time ago.  I was in a bad marriage at the time.  It was an obe and also a change in time.  I observed myself and my husband as two very old people lying on the sofa together.  When I saw this I gasped and realized that it was too late.  It made me literally SEE that it was high time to get a divorce and move on.  It was like a kick in the pants.  It gave me the confidence and courage to change.

I also had another one.  This one was with my new husband of a few years (this was about 10 years ago)  I exited my body and floated in the bedroom for a few minutes, then flew down the stairs and around the corner and into my husband's mind.  It was like fireworks.  Awesome.

Another one, a couple of years ago, found me up in the atmosphere and I cannot explainhow I felt except that it was pure happiness.  I was flying out among the stars and it was the most beautiful thing.  I remember wanting to look down at the earth and knew that if I did I would not want to go back.  I think I wanted to see if that cord was really there.

Those are a few.  I haven't had many controlled ones.  Usually if I am really aware then I pop back into body.

As for sleep paralysis...I don't really experience that at all.  Just once when I had like a freaky radio freqency thing going on in my head and saw many colored lights outside my window.  I moved my eyes and looked at my husband who was sleeping next to me and wanted to wake him up but couldn't make myself move...I don't think I really wanted to.  I wanted to prolong the experience.  It just gradually faded away.

How about you?  Any stories???

Patty

sleep paralysis, yes - something to do with some muscles being alert, others not so you can thinks but not move. Very frustrating, occasionally frightening if coupled with leftover bits of bad dream. obe's sound much more interesting the way keenu tells them

I have sleep paralysis sometimes, it's a bit scary cos I get this feeling that if I fall asleep something bad will happen, but I can't move to wake myself up.

I had a lucid dream a few months ago, it was inbetween snoozes on my alarm clock, I fell back asleep into the same dream but I could control it, so of course I went flying all above my streets and the park! on waking properly I realised the park was nothing like my dream in real life, but I still got to fly!

Frequent obe experiences which are very, very frightening and occasional sleep paralysis.  My son has sleep paralysis quite frequently.  I also suffer from nightmares regularly.

yes both paralysis and obe are very frightning - more details later
obe's are generated by ur inner ear fluids having imbalance whilsts asleep. the muscles in the inner ear try to balance this out causing you to have a sensation of moving whilst you are asleep
I had sleep paralysis once. It was the first night in a new flat and I was on my own. The room was vert dark- more so than I was used to in my own flat. I think this is what caused it. I was POSITIVE that a man (dark shadowy figure) came into my room, and hedl me down. I tried to move or scream but simply couldn't. It wasn't sexual, or an assault, it was just being pinned down. Finally he left, and I fell asleep, but not before putting all the lights on and having a good look around! Even now as a result of that I don't like sleeping in pitch darkness.
Scarlett, this is the sort of Sleep Paralysis my son has experienced.  On several times he said he was being held down by the same man - in his case a goblin like character - horrible!

How strange, I only posted one.  The goblins are active.
if you or anyone suffer any kind of sleep disorder then try praying to jesus to help you and you will be amazed at the results pray for instance (dear lord please help me with this sleep problem in your holy name ) try it you will be amazed it works for me. glory be to god
I read an interesting article about sleep paralysis where it said that people commonly see a wizened old hag standing over them. This is apparantly common in all cultures and throughout history. I'm glad I haven't had one!

I do occasionally have lucid dreams. I went into my own nightmare once and saved myself from being murdered. It was very odd. The murdered looked really stunned when I rescued myself! Actually so did I (I mean the me in the dream, not the me who controlled the dream). Anyway, I was not surprisingly very confused when I woke up...

My nightmares are completely weird.  I have a recurrent nightmare where I am a vampire and flying around attacking people.  In these dreams I am really upset and don't want to be a vampire but can't do anything about it!!

Please don't send anyone to lock me away, Mr/Ms Editor!

my sleep paraylsis always occur in the morning when it is light- there is no creature involved- but i am simply unable to get the blanket of me- i have no strength or energy and i cannot breathe, this starts off as semi - concious and becomes lucid , i have to take heavy breaths to gain energy to pull the blanket off me- it is frighteneing i feel entombed
as a baby my brother nearly suffocated me by repeatdly placing blankets over me- i mentioned this to a psychologist as a reason for my sleep paralysis - and to my annoyance she casually dismissed it
my obe experiences appear far more paranormal- in the first i was hovering above my bed which i could also feel spinning around with me also in the bed and behind the headboard was a giant poster of a baby(?)- this first experience freaked me out so much that i slept dpwnstairs and told my mom mice were disturbing me- what freaked me that i had to pull and stretch myself away from something which was attached to my face and trying to take control- this was a very dimensional and physical "dream" these experiences always occured during daylight morning hours, but now i have experienced a few at dark- and its always the same of something attaching itself(wish it was angeline jolie!)
it is claimed fasting can cause this - i have fasted and during those periods have not experienced any unusual activity at all

i have exactly same sleep paralysis experience as tali122. Its horrible because i feel like i can't breath and can't move to shout out and feel like i am suffocating to death.

I learnt at uni that when you dream your body paralysis your muscles to stop you acting out your dreams. Sleep paralysis is when you wake up but your muscels are still paralysed. Thinking about it like this stoppped me from being scared.

I had one, when it was light outside, and I was looking at my hand on top of the duvet - or at least where my hand should have been! All i could see was a kind of 'predator' style hand shape, moving around as I was moving my hand or believed i was. vaguely remembering how people who lose a limb sometimes experience 'phantom limb' syndrome, where they can still 'feel' the missing limb i began to feel a bit worried and tried to get up, when i couldn't i think i shook myself properly awake with rising panic and lo and behold there was my hand - under the covers! how i laughed... not

Oh, don't let anyone tell you that obe's are caused by inner ear fluid!  Ha  That's really funny.  I have had obe's and  KNOW that is not the cause.  AND, no one needs to pray to someone named Jesus about these experiences either!  Good grief.   The best thing to remember is that NOTHING can hurt us and anything we see in our dreams, obe's, or anywhere else for that matter, is of OUR creation.  The "demons" of the mind.  Once you understand this you can easily get rid of them and go forth to very interesting adventures.  You can fly over your own neighborhood, you can search out your friends (maybe not of this dimension) and have a great time.  It is THE most liberating experience in the universe.  It should never, I repeat NEVER, be thought of as scary.  Those fears are because we don't understand the the universe is a safe place.  We create our own reality.  Period.
