what a terrible day
17 Answers
I went to go shopping today & to buy me a lottery ticket only to discover I have lost my purse, total panic, spent two hours searching rang the newsagent as that was where I made my last purchase yesterday- no it wasnt there, it is a horrible feeling, I think it must have got lifted on the bus but my bag was zipped up. Spent the rest of today cancelling cards, have fun & games trying to get another driving licence from DVLA [ it costs £20 by the way] as I kept getting timed out where this computer is slow, eventually they did it over the phone and M&S card safe cancelled all my cards in minutes, lost £45 and had an all day lecture from Mr S and its worried me so much that I might be losing my marbles that I cant sleep.
Hopefully I will bounce back tomorrow.

I hope things turn out better for you from now on...maybe that the purse was handed in (tho don't hold your breath eh). Hope you manage to sleep...tomorrow's another day and you will have calmed down a little by then. Best wishes and hugs.
thank you all for the "tea & sympathy" much appreciated by me. I just keep going over & over it in my head.
Well now its gone 11.30pm and my Economy 7 has kicked in I can put the dishwasher on and try and get some shut eye, maybe a cup of tea will help.
Some really nice kind people on this site I must say.
I must also say I was relieved when the bank said my debit card had not been used as it was a good 24 hours before I realised what had happened.

Dee isn't it an awful feeling? your heart seems to drop out of your chest.
These days also we've got the added worry of credit/debit cards and knowing what can happen if in the wrong persons hands. I had this happen to me in Tesco a couple of years ago, they had withdrawn £250 before I even realised it was missing. Fortunately the bank refunded it after some form filling. I now keep cash and cards seperate.
If you were dipped I hope the little buggers fingers drop off. Chin Up Dee.

Know the feeling, having had my purse lifted whilst out shopping. Spoke with police but they said unless i could identify the thieves, there was little they could do. If i had caught up with them would have been hell to pay.
Had to cancel cards, lost £20 which was a minor miracle it was only that, and nothing else that mattered, but its the shock of it, and the anger at the little turds who did it. Hope you got some kip, today will be better, its a hassle of course, but you have done all the right things, cancelling cards etc, and once things are replaced you can sit back a bit.

Opportunist and often we are somewhat at fault, time and again you see women leaving bags unzipped, i am quite savvy about safety, but my guard dropped for a moment, was wandering through a market, did realise seconds later what happened, as one brushed up next to me, and the other was ahead, must passed the purse to him, and then they were off, i knew immediately who was, but they were gone before i had a chance to do anything.
