So much for avoiding confusion...

Operation Badminton:
2004 Merseyside - Crackdown on kerb-crawling
2008 Derbyshire - Tackling anti-social and nuisance bahaviour
2008 North Yorkshire - Aviva PLC theft, fraud and money laundering

... even when allowing for the first two being pro-active operations, I see no meaningful links with 'badminton' unless they intend to "net" some wrong-uns.

I suppose part of it is to pick a name that won't mean anything to anyone overhearing it. "Operation Arrest Rebekah" kind of gives the game away.
