When I was young, I used to fall madly 'in love' for about 2 weeks, before I fell madly 'in love' again with someone else.
I love my OH dearly, I still fancy him madly, but I don't get those butterflies and things every time I see him or think of him and sometimes I quite honestly could throttle him.
Seriously though, I can't understand how anybody can be 'in love' with someone they have lived with for years and years. Unless my definition of 'in love' is way off mark.

I very much agree Cazz and I believe you can love someone deeply. But the whole thing of being 'Madly in Love' points towards lust more than that deep love.
I was madly in love with Mr LL when we got married. Now I love him for more deeply and with a more meaningful and lasting love. 40 years of washing underpants and socks tends to calm the 'madly in love' down.
