Outfit For A Wedding In September

I've been invited to a wedding and have a beaded jacket (although they're not beads) in silver and black by Frank Usher. I bought it in the 90's. Would this still look fashionable with say an LBD, long or short + a hat.
There is a black tie evening do as well. Please be honest and would I look dated? Money is a bit tight and if I could wear this it wouldn't put such a drain on my resources. TIA.

I think the jacket sounds lovely, and could possibly be worn with dove gray mid calf length dress? and maybe a same colour facinator and shoes, in a silk covering, with a small neat clutch bag

wear it with the best accessory in the world - a big smile which says you are happy for the couple - as bednobs said, no-one will notice or remember what you are wearing.

that would be ok if you have a dove grey mid length dress, and assuming you have a dove grey fascinator and dove grey silk shoes :)
if not, could be pretty expensive!

ps didn't mean to say that you are not important to bride and groom, just that they wont remember. When i got married, what was improtant to me was that the people i wanted to be there were there, not what they wore

Chrissa, I think it would be lovely over a short black dress. Frank Usher doesn't tend to date but not seeing the jacket I can't really say for sure. Enjy the wedding! :)

It sounds fab with a LBD Chrissa. I agree with an accessory or too. Buy an offordable fascinator and bracelet and maybe a fun pair of shoes or clutch bag, but nothing that will break the bank.

These things always make you look and feel 100 dollars but cost very little. Then you can enjoy the day and remember they want your company more than anything else.

There are some lovely fascinators on ebay. They range from under a tenner. I am going to a formal dinner in September and have bought all my accessories on ebay. Saves trailing around the shops and you can get some great bargains!

i've just bought a linen colour block dress in m & s for £35, and a black jasper conran fascinator (like a big dinner plate on a hair band, with bits sticking up) in debenhams, reduced from £40 to £28, all for a wedding next august. i already have a black bag and sandals, so that's me all set up.
i really don't believe in spending a fortune on wedding outfits and i'm sure you'll look lovely in your frank usher jacket (i have a wide, stretchy,black sequinned belt of his, it was all i could afford at the time, absolutely love it) with whatever you decide to wear with it :o)

My sister has a lovely Frank Usher powder blue long jacket and skirt with a matching hat that she bought at a Nearly New Shop. It looks lovely. Sorted!!

Just thought that you don't dress to impress the bride and groom, one dresses to impress the other guests doesn't one. Lol.
