I can't help with an answer, but look forward to what Sqad has to say because I have the same problem. Its miserable.
Difficult..very very difficult and I am just going to make my own comments, as you can Google Restless leg Syndrome and also other ABer sufferers will pot their particular pet therapy.

1) Go to your GP and ask for a blood test, as iron deficiency anaemia can well be the underlying cause and remedied by taking iron supplements.

2) Drug therapy will be a matter of trial and error.

3) Quinine taken in the form of tonic water may well help despite the low dose of quinine in the drink.

4)Temazepam taken at night has often produced good results.

Sorry this has been a bland, negative post, but it is a difficult problem.
I have this too Sqad, Tramadol helps me, ask your GP.
sandy....yes.....a good suggestion.
I too have restless legs. Enough to drive anyone crazy!!!! But I wouldn't take Tramedol, I think it is a very strong pain killer and very addictive.( i took it after major surgery, and took me ages to get off it). Best thing is to go to your doctor, they(well mine is)are very understanding about this problem now.I take PRAMIPEXOLE tablets at night to relieve this awful feeling, and it works.

thanks all for the answers. My blood test did not show anaemia. I currently take quinine tablet at night alo two temazepan, eight paracetamol a day and numerou other pills and potions!
I take a quarter of an aspirin every night and that seems to keep it at bay...but don't take on an empty stomach.
