I have a 32" Sony Bravia tv and the screen has been cracked by a flying water bottle, there is still vision on half the screen, but that's not such great watching!! Does anyone know if this is repairable and at what approx cost of it is.
Well the screen packed in on my 2.5 year old sony earlier in the year, I was supplied with a new one as sony no longer make that perticular panel. So no I don't think you will be able to get it repaired.
It's a throw away sciety these days, repairs being a quaint old-fashioned idea. Unfortunately. But no harm in asking at the local TV shop. Or even e-mailing Sony ? They can only say yes or no.
Televisions have always been an expensive screen with some cheap circuits attached to it, it's been the case for years that if a screen is smashed or faulty it's cheaper to replace than to repair.
I have never heard of a 'flying water bottle'. Is it a party item.??
In all seriousness, if the TV has been damaged accidentally, can you perhaps claim on House Insurance and have a new TV. Far better than a repair job being done; which could be expensive.
