anyone else out there taking mathotroxate

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.do you mean methotrexate and are you taking it for rheumatoid arthritis? if so it is supposed to stop it getting worse although you should eventually feel some benefit as the inflamation settles. Can take a long time though I'd wait until you next have a blood test/review by your consultant and see if your results are improving.
you should feel the benefit of it within 3 weeks. talk to your gp. it may be that it is working but needs something else to help it along in the first few months.

If you scroll down on this Arthritis Research UK link it says it can take between 3 and 12 weeks for methotrexate to work...

hi nanny, I take Methotrexate along side steroids and other medicines for the treatment of retro- peritoneal fibrosis. I have had this condition for nearly forty years and although the transition from one medicine to another was uncomfortable , the new regime , taking Methotrexate weekly suits me better and I am in less pain. Stick with it if you can , it took me about two months to feel the benefits .
