Hi, I am responsible for decorating the room for my nephews 18th birthday party on Saturday. Helium & balloons sorted, I need some interesting facts about either the number 18, people who achieved something when 18. The year 1987 or April the 12th. Or the Law for 18 year olds. For example I know that he could have won 10 million on the lottery at aged 16 but only now can he put a 50p each way bet on a horse in the Grand National. He could have married aged 16 but only now legally buy a pint to celebrate. Any (and I mean any) ideas or facts would be greatly appreciated.

Errr... apart from that, it's not a particularly exciting day in history. (Obviously world events were on hold for the birth of your nephew.)

For my God daughters 18th I printed out a load of information (hits from the year she was born, other people born that year, other people born on her birthday, news from the year she was born etc0, but it inside plastic sleeves in a file, and then got all the guests to sign a guest sheet which also went in the file, a nice reminder of the evening ( I hope)!

 At 16, he could have had heterosexual sex legally, but would have to wait till he was 18 to have homosexual sex ( im sorry if im behind the times and wrong on this matter ).

In the UK, sex is legal for both homosexuals and heterosexuals from the age of 16.
