I have a bunny with a broken leg and therefore she is confined to the hutch (something scared her in the garden and she skidded on the patio). Has anyone got any good ideas of things I can give her to stop her getting so bored. She is trashing the hutch and shredding paper by the tonne. She is generally very spoilt and does have a mate.

Carrots......
THe fruit tree wood is a brill answer, or you could go to your local pet shop and buy her some bunny treats that need a lot of gnawing to keep her occupied. Good luck.
Try parrot toys that can be tossed, or hung from the top of the cage and chewed or hit or baby toys: hard plastic (not teething) toys like rattles and keys, things that can be tossed. Big thick carpet tubes that can be chewed or crawled into, or even a radio to listen to. Rabbits are very sociable and get bored/depressed very easily.
beanebabe, I'm interested to know what treatment your vet has given a rabbit with a broken leg?

Ladybirder - Sugar bunny has had her back leg in a splint, wrapped in padding and bandage, for the last 4 weeks. It has fallen off several times so I am not sure how well it is going to have fixed. She is having another xray tomorrow, so we will know more. It was a nasty break and I am sure, at best, she will be left with a nasty limp. If it hasn't knitted together, the vets have talked of amputation (not an option, too unkind, she would have to be put down). Thank you for your concern, I will let you know how it goes.
